WHAT HAPPENED?
In another step towards more roster transparency, MLS has released updated General Allocation Money (GAM) totals as of Feb. 28. Prior to the start of the season, the league released updated GAM totals for the first time.
The updated totals reflect where each club stands after multiple transactions ahead of the start of the season.
At the start of the 2025 season, it was announced MLS clubs would receive $2.93 million GAM annually per season. However, more GAM could be acquired through trades and player sales. Clubs can also add up to another $2 million GAM if they choose the U-22 initiative roster-building pathway.
